The Brooklyn Museum Decorative Arts a semi permanent display on the fourth floor of the museum.

The collection is centred around a number of period rooms from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries in which are found a wonderful collection of American antique furniture, silver, pewter, glass, and ceramics.

Period Rooms

This is the real value of the Brooklyn. Intact rooms from homes on the east coast of America were transported piece by piece to the museum and reassembled.

One among them is Trippe House is decorated in the Federal interiors style.

Other interiors featured are in the Queen Anne, Chippendale, Rococo Revival of the American Victorian period and an Asian influenced room of the Rockefellers. Finally there remains a room decorated in the French Art Deco mode.
